Partial Differential Equations for Flow Models

Depending on the type of FlowDict experiment different partial differential equations (PDEs) may be used to simulate flow through the given geometry:

All experiments in FlowDict, even for Navier-Stokes, assume a steady flow regime, i.e., do not allow for time-dependent behavior such as turbulence. In practice, this means that the velocity and pressure drop cannot be arbitrarily high. FlowDict users are advised to carefully examine the validity of FlowDict predictions for their own application area.
