Perforated Foil
Select Perforated Foils to create flat sheets with differently shaped holes.

The GridGeo Perforated Foil Options dialog opens when clicking the Options’ Edit… button in the GridGeo section.
At the top left of the GridGeo Perforated Foil Options dialog, enter the name for the files containing the generation results in the Result File Name (*.gdr) box. Keep the default name, or choose a new name which fits to your current project.
The available units (m, cm, mm, µm, nm, and Inch) are selectable from the drop down menu at the top right of the GridGeo Perforated Foil Options dialog. When the units are changed, the entered values are adjusted automatically.

As Foil Mode either Periodic Foil or Free Foil can be chosen to be generated in GridGeo.
Periodic Foils fit in a rectangular grid and can therefore be composed of multiple unit cells (which must be specified).
Skewed grids can be generated as Free Foils (see the examples below). Rectangular unit cells may be complicated to determine (or may not exist at all), so instead of a desired number of unit cells the overall size of the domain must be set.
