GAD Object Selection
Editing and modification of structure models can be done on the voxel geometry or the analytic description (GAD data) of a structure, if it is available. You can check this in the Project Status Section.
If you created a structure with a generator module of GeoDict, then GAD data is available and you can easily modify or eliminate undesired fragments of the structure without having to reset the parameters and generate again.
The same fibrous media model as in the section before is edited, but now the analytic objects are modified.

Note! In contrast to editing the voxel structure, editing the analytic objects preserves the analytic object information in the file.

Select analytic objects to edit
You can edit voxels in 2D Cross Section (SEM) view or in 3D Rendering. To enter the GAD Object Selection mouse mode, click the icon in the toolbar. This also opens the GAD Object Selection dialog from the GUI sidebar.
Click on a GAD object to select it. For several objects, press and hold the Shift key on the keyboard while clicking the objects. The selected objects appear highlighted and have a yellow-colored frame.
The table in the GAD Object Selection dialog shows the ID number and the Object Type of the selected GAD object.
If an object is mistakenly selected, press and hold the CTRL key and click on the object again.
Clicking Clear Selection in the GAD Object Selection dialog removes all objects from the selection.
|
Edit Objects
You can Edit Objects in a dialog which looks similar to the GadGeo Edit GAD Objects dialog, but it contains only the chosen GAD Objects.
With a double click or right click on one of the selected objects in the table the Edit menu for only this object can be opened.
|
Delete Objects
When clicking Delete Objects, all selected GAD objects, which are listed in the table, are deleted and taken out from the structure model.
|
Change Material ID
Change the Material ID of the selected objects by selecting a New Material ID from the pull-down menu and clicking Change Material ID.
The selected objects still appear highlighted (and this perhaps makes it difficult to see the change in the material) until you click Clear Selection.
Now the fibrous structure model contains fibers of three different materials.
