GeoDict User Guide 2025

GeoDict Licensing

The GeoDict License controls who is entitled to use the software, what he may use, how he may use it, how many instances of the software he may use, how long he may use it, and where he may use it.

GeoDict licenses can be node-locked or floating.

  • A Node-Locked license is bound to the hardware (ethernet/MAC address) of a specific computer. GeoDict can only run on this computer.
  • A Floating license is also bound to the hardware of a specific computer. Here, the license server can only run on this computer. GeoDict can run on any computer that connects to the license server. The license server controls how many GeoDict instances can run at the same time.

In both cases, you must provide information about the hardware to enable Math2Market to create a license. The topics below explain how you provide these information in your license request and how you install the license after you received it.
