Generate Artificial CT
The Generate Artificial CT app creates a multi-material artificial CT based on the voxel geometry loaded in GeoDict.
Modules needed to run this GeoApp: GrainGeo or FiberGeo, PoroDict |
Click Edit to open the Generate Artificial CT parameter dialog.
Enter a Result File Name at the top of the dialog.
Use the Color values table to define the gray values for each material. The base gray value is the mean gray value for the each material in the generated gray value image. Define the gradient intensity, which determines whether the borders of the material will be lighter or darker. The gradient half distance defines the thickness of these border gradients.
Note! The Generate Artificial CT app always creates an 8-bit image dataset (gray values between 0 and 255). If you want to create an 16-bit image dataset, create the 8-bit version first and then use the Sample to 8 / 16 bit functionality in ImportGeo-Vol. |
Define the Signal to Noise Ratio, where higher values result in a clearer image, while lower values add more random noise.
The Blur Filter: Sigma defines the strength of the blurriness in the generated image.
Decide whether to add Noise. Larger values of Noise Grain Size create larger patches of noise with similar gray values.
The Normalization Mode defines how the gray value image is normalized. It can be set according to MinMax gray values or to 0-255.
Five different types of artifacts can be added to the artificial CT images:
After the CT-generation is finished, the artificial CT-scan is loaded as volume field in the visualization area and the result file is opened in the Result Viewer. From the Data Visualization tab the Artificial CT-scan, the used Distance Map, and the Noise Field can be loaded.
