Triangular Monolith (DPF-GPF)

The Triangular Monolith (DPF-GPF) app generates a Diesel Particulate Filter / Gasoline Particulate Filter consisting of triangular combs. Every channels is plugged on one end in an alternating pattern.

Note-Important

Modules needed to run this GeoApp:

GridGeo

Clicking Edit opens the Triangular Monolith(DPF-GPF) Parameters dialog.

Define the Result File Name, the Voxel Length, the Filter Length, the Number of Unit Cells in X- and Y-direction, the Wall Thickness, the Plug Thickness, the Inlet length, the Outlet length, the Channel Side Length and Channel Side Ratio.

Close the dialog with OK and then click Run to create the triangular monolith.

The structure generated using the Triangular Monolith (DPF-GPF) app is identical to that of the Triangular Monolith (TWC) app, except that the former has every channel sealed on one end to create a wall-flow configuration, while the latter keeps all channels open to form a flow-through structure.
