Automation
GeoDict offers the key possibility of recording and executing macros or scripts directly from the GUI or in the command line. Automate repetitive workflows and parameter studies using such macros and GeoPy scripts. Use the entries in the Macro menu to record and execute macros.
GeoDict already ships lots of these GeoPy scripts in the form of GeoApps. The GeoApp menu in GeoDict gives access to several predefined macros for workflows that are often requested. Additionally, you can add own recorded and edited parameter macros to create custom GeoApps for frequent workflows.
Another automation possibility is to send your GeoDict commands to the Cloud either simple commands directly or complex parameter studies in form of GeoPy scripts. Cloud computing describes a model that provides computational resources as a service on demand, for example, in the form of servers, data storage, or applications.
If you already have a powerful machine, you can use the Job Queue option instead of the cloud. This allows you to run a Server on a powerful machine where multiple users can submit computationally intensive simulations. These simulations, referred to as Jobs, are automatically queued and executed without requiring manual intervention.
Use the Cloud & Queue menu to manage your job queue and cloud projects.
Additionally, GeoDict also allows for high performance computing by setting up clusters or using shared memory machines.
