The exemplary results presented below were computed by using a simple packed-beds reactor structure with the following settings:
At the top of the Results - Report subtab the Number of batches with one additional initial batch and the total simulated time is provided. Both of these parameters can be defined by you in the solver panel. Below the Breakthrough, Stochiometric, and Saturation time is provided. The values provide characteristic times at which a certain amount of the inlet concentration has reached the outlet:
At the bottom of the report a table containing the Time, Outflow concentration in ppm, and the Total adsorbed amount of adsorbate in mol is provided for each batch. |
In the Results - Plots subtab, four different plots showing the adsorption simulation results are available. The first plot shows the applied Isotherm, i.e., Equilibrium load over the Partial pressure. The isotherm is defined during the simulation setup in the Adsorbent panel. The second plot shows the Average load per layer in Z-direction, which is the fixed computation direction. Here a graph for each batch is available. By right-clicking the graph all or a selection of batches can be shown. Below only the batches 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20 have been selected. The third plot shows the Breakthrough curve, i.e., the outflowing concentration of the adsorbate over time. In this plot the characteristic times (Breakthrough, Stochiometric, and Saturation) are easily observable. The fourth plot shows the total Adsorbed amount in the system over the Time and also provides a good indication of the full saturation time. More details on plot settings, are available in the Result Viewer user guide. |
Under the Data Visualization tab three different types of volume fields can be loaded:

Under the Create Videos tab a predefined macro file is available to quickly animate the buildup of adsorbed load in the structure. The generated full HD video (*.mp4) is saved in the corresponding results folder and an be played by clicking Play Video or directly opening the file with a video player of your choice. The Play Video button uses the default video player defined in your system. Under Edit Parameters multiple options are available:
An exemplary video that was generated using Create Video is shown below. Please click on the play button to start the video. |
