3D Gray Value Visualization
Since the 3D gray-value image is visualized as a Volume Field in the main GeoDict GUI, it can be rendered in 3D. To do so, leave the Image Processing dialog and return to the main user interface.
All gray value images that are currently loaded can be viewed in 2D in the Visualization area. To view the image in 3D, switch to 3D view by clicking the
icon in the toolbar or selecting View → 3D Rendering from the menu bar.
In ≥ threshold mode, dark gray values are rendered invisible in the visualization when the threshold slider is moved or a gray value is entered. In this example, a threshold of 122.5 is entered, which is the Otsu threshold for this image. For gray value images, it is recommended to uncheck Smooth as this feature interpolates values between the voxels to show a smooth surface, which can lead to artifacts. Detailed information on visualization in GeoDict can be found in the Visualization user guide.
