Installation & Licensing

The necessary files to install GeoDict on your computer can be downloaded from the GeoDict web site. GeoDict can be installed on Windows or Linux computers. It is possible to install GeoDict locally for yourself without administrator privileges. To install GeoDict for multiple users, you must have an administrator account.

To run Geodict, you need to install a valid license. Again, if the license shall be used by multiple users, it must be installed by an administrator.

New in GeoDict 2026

The RLM floating license server shipped with GeoDict has been updated to version 17 which consists of a redesigned web interface and enhanced user management.
When multiple users request a license that is currently in use, the license requests will now be queued and handled by a first-come-first-serve principle.
