This video animates the distribution of particles. It requires that either the Final Particle Positions or the Deposited Dust Volume Fractions were kept for all batches that are to be shown in the video. This must be selected in the Output options before starting the filtration simulation.

The Stride defines the batch increment between two frames, i.e  a stride of 1 means that every batch will be rendered, while a stride of 3 means that only the results of every third batch will be rendered in the video.

Uncheck Render Structure if the video should only show the deposited particles, but not the filter structure.  

The Video Duration is the overall length in seconds that the created mp4 file will play.

Check Use Predefined View Settings if a predefined camera position should be used, uncheck it if you want to use the current camera position.

Particle Rendering can be done in three different ways:

• Particles: corresponds to using Load Particles in the Particle Visualization tab
• Field: corresponds to using Load Deposited Dust in the Particle Visualization tab
• Voxel: corresponds to using Load Deposited Dust as Voxel Structure in the Particle Visualization tab

The video combines plots with a visualization of the particles. Two different plots may be selected with the Add layered deposited volume plot and the Add efficiency plot options. The position, height, width and font size of the plots can also be selected.

Start the video generation by clicking Create Video…. A pop-up dialog appears with some information.

Generating the video requires that certain output files have been created. Depending on the selected Output options, some files may not have been stored for all batches, but only after every nth batch. In this case, the script automatically changes the Stride, such that the necessary files are available for the rendered batches. E.g. if the volume fractions files were only stored every 5th batch, the Stride will be changed to 5 if Particle Rendering: Field is selected.

When the video generation is finished, a pop-up window appears that shows the location of the generated file.

Generating this video requires certain output files. Select Keep all for Trajectories and Deposited dust volume fractions on the Output tab prior to running the simulation if you want to create this video afterwards.

Uncheck Keep Images to remove the created .png image files after the video was generated. In this case, only the .mp4 file fill be kept.

Select Add layered deposited volume plot to include a plot on the left that shows the distribution of the deposited mass per Z-layer.

The video combines plots with a visualization of the particles. It is particularly suited to visualize coalescence of particles as the deposited mass will be visualized by the corresponding volume fractions, and not as a collection of solid particles.

The created video will use the camera position currently set in the viewport.

This video animates the buildup of a pressure drop. It requires that the Flow field was kept for all batches that are to be shown in the video. This must be selected in the Output options before starting the filtration simulation.

Check Use Predefined View Settings if a predefined camera position should be used, uncheck it if you want to use the current camera position.

Check Show Streamlines to visualize the flow streamlines, too.

The video combines a plot of the pressure drop with a visualization of the particles. The position, height, width and font size of the plots can also be selected.

The pressure drop may be plotted over Time or deposited Dust on the X-axis.
