Object Types

All available GAD object types, shapes, and profiles and their representation in the .gad file are explained in the following.

Grain Shapes Parameter definition for spheres (filled and hollow), ellipsoids, boxes, triangular prisms, superquadric particles, polyhedrons (planar and convex). Fiber Shapes Parameter definition for short and long fibers, straight and curved, with fixed or varying diameters. Fiber Profiles Parameter definitions for various fiber cross sections. Combined Object Parameter definition for objects combining several standard objects into a new object. Intersected Object Paramter definition for objects created by intersection of multiple standard objects.
