Select one of the Material Characterization commands from the second pull-down menu and click Edit... to enter the parameters for the simulation.

Commands of Material Characterization
|
- Solid Size Distribution (Granulometry)
Determine the size distribution of solid objects by fitting spheres.
- Percolation Path
This method determines the maximal diameters of spherical particles that can move through the medium. In addition, the shortest paths of the largest particles are calculated and displayed. Also, the shortest path of a given sphere size through the medium may be computed.
- Connected Components
Find and count the number of connected components in the 3D structure.
- Estimate Surface Area
Approximate the surface area of a material by using statistical methods and by adding up the voxel surfaces.
- Estimate Three-Phase Contact Line
Compute the length of the contact line between the phases in a three-phase system.
- Minkowski Parameters
Compute the four Minkowski Parameters Volume, Surface Area, Integral of mean curvature, and Integral of total curvature.
- Chord Length Distribution
Determine the distribution of the length of a typical chord (number of connected voxels along the computational direction) of a structure.
- Geodesic Tortuosity
Find the shortest paths crossing the material, either through pore space or through solid materials.
- 2-Point Correlation
Determine the probability for two points having a certain distance to be correlated, which means that they belong to the same type.
