GeoDict User Guide 2025

Crop, Embed & Add Layers

In many cases, it is necessary to transform structures in order to build new ones. For instance, the LayerGeo module combines 3D volumes. For this, the dimensions of the merged structures must be compatible. Thus, to merge two structures in Z direction, the dimensions in the X- and Y-direction must be the same.

For these types of operations, it can be useful to crop parts of the structure, grow the structure by embedding, or repeat or mirror the structure or parts of it. To add or delete voxels in the X-, Y-, or Z-direction, click the Options’ Edit… button.

Commands available in the drop-down menu

  • Crop
Crop the structure by a selected number of voxels at the different domain sides.
  • Embed
Enlarge domain by adding additional voxels at the domain sides.
  • Repeat
Apply the repetition of the structure at the domain sides.
  • Mirror
Mirror the structure at the domain sides.
