The Mean Filter can be applied to the 3D image to remove noise or to smooth the image.

The given Sphere Radius defines the size of the mask used for the filtering of the 3D image. Enter the Sphere Radius in voxels and click Apply to filter the image immediately.

Please refer to the Median Filter page for an example. Similar results to the example shown there can also be achieved using the Mean Filter with the same sphere radius value.
