Gauss Filter

The Gauss Filter can be applied to the 3D image to remove noise or to smooth the image.

The given Sphere Radius defines the size of the mask used for the filtering of the 3D image. The Sigma value in voxels corresponds to the standard deviation of the Gaussian filter. Click Apply to filter the image using the current settings.

Please refer to the Median Filter page for an example. Similar results to the example shown there can also be achieved using the Gauss Filter with the same sphere radius value.
