GeoDict User Guide 2025

Options

Clicking the Options’ Edit… button opens the Roughen Surface options dialog. Clicking OK closes the dialog and returns to the GrainGeo section. Clicking Generate starts the process of surface roughening.

Two different methods can be chosen to roughen the surface. Using Stochastic Roughness, a Gaussian random field is produced to determine which voxels to add or subtract from the structure. With Add Surface Grains, small grains are added to the surfaces of the structure.

The parameters are described in groups:

  • General Options
Define general parameters as result file name, parallelization, and the method for the surface roughening.
  • Stochastic Roughness
Define the parameters specifying the stochastic roughness.
  • Add Surface Grains
Define the parameters specifying the adding of grains to the surface.
