GeoDict User Guide 2025

Results

After the 2-Point Correlation calculation is finished, the resulting files are saved in the project folder and a Result Viewer with the GeoDict result file opens automatically. The created GeoDict result file (*.gdr) contains five tabs. The computational results are shown under the Results tab. The other four tabs (Input Map, Log Map, Post Map, and Metadata) display additional information about the computation.

Find more details on the general functionalities in the Result Viewer user guide.

Report

In the Results – Report tab a table shows for each distance the computed Autocorrelation of two points having this distance. Below the table, the computed direction is shown. At the bottom, the Correlation Length in voxels is given. It is computed as the standard deviation of the fitted gaussian.

Plots

In the Report – Plots subtab, the values from the table are graphically shown as Autocorrelation graph (here red). The reported Correlation Length is visualized with the blue dashed line, as well as the Gaussian Fit (here yellow) that was used to calculate the correlation length.

The plots have additional graphs if the normalization mode Probability is selected. The Phase Volume Fraction and the Phase Volume Fraction (squared) are additionally plotted. They support the visualization of the correlation function that is limited by these two values.
