Particles

Under the Particles tab, six sub-tabs are available to define Positioning, Movement, Electrostatic Effects, Interaction Model and Size Distribution.

The Electrostatic Effects tab is not available if porous materials are present in the structure, in this case it is grayed out.

The tab Coalescence appears only if this feature is separately licensed.

Topics of this section

  • Positioning
Define the start positions of the simulated particles.
  • Movement
Select the parameters modelling the motion of the particle.
  • Electrostatic Effects
Switch electrostatic effects on or off and select a decay model.
  • Interaction Model
Define collision and adhesion models for particles-material collisons.
  • Size Distribution
Define the particle size distribution and all particle size dependent parameters.
  • Coalescence
Simulate liquid-liquid filtration with a coalescence model.
